About Aquaveda

Engineering judgment, grounded in decades inside the system

Aquaveda Consulting Engineers was founded to make government-grade irrigation engineering experience available directly to farmers, manufacturers, and agencies who need it.

Leadership

Er. Dhoop Singh

Founder & Principal Consultant

Former Superintending Engineer, Irrigation & Water Resources Department And Director (MICADA), Government of Haryana

Er. Dhoop Singh spent his career as an engineer within the Irrigation Department, Government of Haryana, rising to Superintending Engineer — a senior technical and administrative role overseeing irrigation infrastructure, canal systems, and water management across the state. That work meant direct, ground-level responsibility for engineering decisions that affected farmers and communities at scale, not just design on paper.

After retiring from government service, he founded Aquaveda Consulting Engineers to make that experience available directly to the people who need it — farmers and farmer organisations planning microirrigation systems, manufacturers navigating BIS and ISO requirements, developers assessing renewable energy and water resource projects, and contractors and agencies executing infrastructure works. Aquaveda exists because technical decisions in this field carry real consequences, and they benefit from engineering judgment that has actually sat inside the regulatory and administrative system, not just observed it.

Every engagement is worked personally. Aquaveda is deliberately structured as a principal-led practice rather than a firm that hands client work off to junior associates — the person who scopes an engagement is the person who does the work.

What Guides the Work

Principles behind every engagement

Standards-Driven

Recommendations are grounded in the BIS and ISO standards that actually govern the field — not generic best practice.

Field-Tested Judgment

Decades spent inside a state irrigation department mean recommendations account for how projects actually get built and maintained, not just how they look on paper.

Direct Access

No account managers, no hand-off to junior staff. You work directly with the person who has the experience.

How We Work

A direct, principal-led engagement model

Six stages, one continuous thread — from first conversation to a system that's actually running in the field.

  1. Step 1

    Initial Consultation

    • Understand the ask — project type, urgency, and constraints
    • Identify the right service line among our advisory domains
    • Outline a scope and a realistic timeline expectation
  2. Step 2

    Site Visit & Technical Assessment

    • On-ground assessment of water source, soil, terrain, and existing infrastructure
    • Review of any prior surveys, DPRs, or technical documentation
    • Identification of constraints that don't show up on paper
  3. Step 3

    Standards & Regulatory Mapping

    • Mapping the relevant BIS/ISO codes and government scheme requirements
    • Identifying NOC, licensing, or certification requirements
    • Flagging compliance risks early, before design work begins
  4. Step 4

    Engineering Design

    • Hydraulic design, system layout, or infrastructure planning specific to the service line
    • Iteration based on client feedback and site realities
    • Vendor-neutral component and material selection
  5. Step 5

    Documentation & Reporting

    • Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), technical drawings, and compliance documentation
    • Formatted for execution, certification, or government submission
    • Reviewed line-by-line before handover
  6. Step 6

    Execution Support & Handover

    • Technical advisory during installation or construction
    • Commissioning support and performance verification
    • Ongoing availability after handover — not a one-time deliverable

Principal-Led Engagement

Every project is worked directly by the founder — no hand-off to junior staff.
